Voting in America

If you are an American citizen, it is very important that you register to vote! When it is election time, you should go to your polling place (the place where you vote) and vote. To learn how to register to vote, keep reading!

Registering to Vote

To register to vote, you need to fill out a voter registration form and send it to the Secretary of State. You can find voter registration forms online at the Office of Secretary of State.

Voting at Your Polling Place (After you Register!)

  1. Once you are registered, you need to bring your driver’s license with your current address on it to the polling place.
  2. If you do not have your current address on your license or if you just moved, you can show an electricity, water, or garbage bill with your current address.
  3. If you move to a new place, you need to register to vote in your new location.
